With her first new single Daisies, Katy reveals the release date of her fifth album

The first single from Katy Perry’s fifth untitled LP celebrates the strength of every human being. Titled Daisies, the song talks about overcoming adversities. Katy nailed the timing of the release since so many people can relate to it with the ongoing war against coronavirus.

The pop singer is expecting her first baby with actor Orlando Bloom. In the video, you can see Katy in the natural, pristine outdoors looking angelic in a white sheer lacy dress. With her red lipstick and eyeliner, the slightly plump mother-to-be looks radiant and happy. And she passes on all those happy vibes to us.

Katy took to Twitter to talk about the song: “I wrote this song a couple months ago as a call to remain true to the course you’ve set for yourself, regardless of what others may think. Recently, it has taken a new meaning for me, in light of what the whole world is experiencing.”

She penned Daisies with Jon Bellion, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Michael Pollack, and the Monsters’ Jordan K Johnson and Stefan Johnson. The song is produced by The Monsters & Strangerz.

The lyrics read as:

They said I’m going nowhere
Tried to cut me out
Took those sticks and stones
Showed them I could build a house
Tell me that I’m crazy
Never let them change me
So they cover me in daisies

Daisies is the latest single off Katy’s as-of-yet untitled upcoming album. It follows previously released tracks Never Worn White, Harleys in Hawaii and Small Talk.

Katy released her previous album Witness in June 2017. Her fifth album will be released on August 14 via Capitol Records.
