Multiple members of Bollywood have already reacted on Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise and the saga continues, after several actors and singer (Sonu Nigam), Adnan Sami took the centre stage and bashed Bollywood music industry and the 'mafias' who control it.
Adnan Sami, a famous singer known for his popular hits like 'Lift Karade' and 'Tera Chehra' spoke up against the exploitation one goes through in the Indian film and music industry in his latest Instagram post. He writes, “The Indian Film & Music Industry SERIOUSLY needs a ‘Herculean‘ SHAKE UP. Especially in the context of music, New Singers, Veteran Singers, Music Composers & Music Producers – who are being exploited to the HILT!! “Fall into the DICTAT or you’re OUT”… Why is creativity [being] “CONTROLLED” by those you have no clue about ‘creativity’ & are trying to [play] GOD??”
The singer strongly condemns the 'remix' culture, the trend to remake/recreate the same song. Especially coming from big music composers and companies who should be open to new talent, instead, they control everything, said Adnan Sami. He further writes “give them creative peace musically & cinematically.”
In his post, Adnan Sami calls out the 'mafias' upfront, he says, “Have you, the Movie & Music ‘Mafia’ who have arrogantly entitled yourselves as the ‘self-professed & self-appointed gods‘ not learned anything from history that you can NEVER control art & the ecosystem of creativity of any field?"
Adnan, without taking any names reminds the 'mafias' about the present 'change' taking place in the industry and how it will change the course of functioning with time to come. He continues, "ENOUGH!! MOVE OVER!! “CHANGE” is here & it’s knocking on your door!! Ready or Not, it‘s coming in! Brace yourselves!”
He concludes his post with a strong quote by Abraham Lincoln, “You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time."
The angst against big players in the industry comes at a time when most people are speaking up against the partiality Film and Music industry shows to any talented newcomer(s). Recently, Sonu Nigam spoke about how the power of the music industry lies in the hands of two mafias. He openly called out Bhushan Kumar, the music composer for his misbehaviour towards Sonu.
