Priyanka Chopra’s uncle, Meera Chopra’s father robbed at knifepoint

Bollywood actor Meera Chopra’s father, who also happens to be Priyanka Chopra’s uncle, was robbed at knifepoint by goons in Delhi on Tuesday when he was out for a walk.

Meera Chopra tweeted, “My dad was taking a walk in #policecolony. 2 guys came in a scooter, showed knife and snatched his phone. This is how safe you claim Delhi to be.” She also tagged Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Commissioner of Police in the tweet.

In the next tweet, the Article 375 actress shared the FIR number.

In her last tweet, Meera thanked the DCP of North Delhi for taking quick action. She wrote, “Thanks @DcpNorthDelhi for such a quick action. Makes me proud when we feel protected by our police department. It’s never abt what has been snatched but protecting our elders is most important! Respect @DelhiPolice.”

On the professional front, the 36-year-old was last seen in ‘Section 375’ which was released last year in September along with Akshaye Khanna and Richa Chadda.

‘WORRIES’

Actor Meera Chopra says the shutdown of film industry amid the novel coronavirus worries her. The film industry is at a standstill after the nationwide lockdown was announced on March 24 to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Talking to PTI, Meera said, “It worries me a lot, I was supposed to start shooting for a show in April, and a movie in June. Both the projects are halted because none of the industry folks know when the shooting will be resumed now. I’ve been in touch with my producers, and they are equally blank about the future.

“It seems right now nothing is in our hands. We are facing a huge crisis and we all have to fight that first and then think about anything else. We have to fight corona together for our better future. It’s very important to maintain our mental balance right now, it’s a very sensitive period.”
