PUNE: The National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, is taking several measures to contain the spread of coronavirus on the campus.
“All cadets and personnel in NDA are being briefed, sensitised about the causes and symptoms of COVID-19 by commanding officer of Military Hospital. They are also advised to ensure personal hygiene at an individual level. All large public gatherings, celebrations, mass activities, visit to crowded places, guest lectures, movies have been suspended till further orders,” stated a press release from NDA.
According to officials, the cadets are being closely monitored on for any symptoms of COVID-19 by their divisional officers, seniors and civilian instructors. All educational hikes, outdoor activities outside NDA have been stopped till further orders. The visitors are also not permitted (be it parents or general populace). Any person having symptoms of flu, cough, cold is advised to report immediately and are to be screened and treated separately. Measures are being taken to scan/ check outsiders visiting NDA for work/sundry purposes.
NO SUSPECTED PATIENT AT MILIT/DIAT
The Defence Ministry officials said that information in social media about a member of Military Institute of Technology (MILIT) and Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) campus in Girinagar near Khadakwasla, having been affected by coronavirus is false and hearsay. No symptoms associated with coronavirus have been detected in any personnel of MILIT/DIAT. All necessary arrangements are in place to regulate the screening of individuals.
