Coronavirus Pune: Death toll reaches 47
In Pune, Sassoon General Hospital (SGH) has reported 38 deaths out of 48, due to COVID-19. However, on Thursday, the first patient from SGH was discharged after recovering from the disease.
PUNE: The death toll in the city due to COVID-19 has reached 47 as four more deaths were reported on Thursday. With this, 70 new patients were tested positive on Thursday in Pune district, taking the total to 497.
A 65-year-old patient with hypertension lost the battle against COVID-19 on late Wednesday night. The second victim was a 54-year-old man who was admitted on April 13. He died on Thursday. The third victim, a 47-year-old female, had diabetic nephropathy. Whereas the fourth victim, a 55-year-old female had complaints of hypertension and cardiomyopathy.
RECOVERED AND DISCHARGED
In Pune, Sassoon General Hospital (SGH) has reported 38 deaths out of 48, due to COVID-19. However, on Thursday, the first patient from SGH was discharged after recovering from the disease. The 42-year-old man was admitted on March 31, whereas the onset of illness was from March 26. After isolation of 14 days at SGH and two more tests, he was tested negative. After recovering, he was discharged on Thursday.
Maharashtra reported 286 new cases on Thursday. The State tally has now reached 3,205. Seven deaths were reported in State on Thursday taking the total to 194.
SGH DEAN TRANSFERRED
Dr Ajay Chandanwale, Dean of SGH, was transferred to Mumbai on the post of Joint Director, DMER. Dr Murlidhar Tambe will now be the deputy dean of SGH.
