Coronavirus Pune: City infected cases jump to 1,339; death toll stands 79

As per Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) authorities, on Tuesday, 112 patients tested positive, taking the city total to 1,339. So far, 79 deaths have been recorded, including the two who died on Tuesday. 

Pune: With no new deaths in the city-based Sassoon General Hospital (SGH) on Tuesday, the hospital discharged nine patients who recovered from coronavirus (COVID-19). The ones discharged includes a four-month-old boy. Also, 27 patients from PMC have recovered, which also included the nine patients from SGH taking the total to 203. 

As per Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) authorities, on Tuesday, 112 patients tested positive, taking the city total to 1,339. So far, 79 deaths have been recorded, including the two who died on Tuesday. 

At the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 11 patients have tested positive on Tuesday, taking the total to 107. So far, four people have died at PCMC and 31 patients discharged.

Patients discharged at SGH on Tuesday

  • A four-month-old boy who spent a fortnight in the hospital.
  • Four patients did not have co-morbidities. They included a nine-year-old girl, a 55-year-old man, a 64-year-old man and a 65-year-old man.

Deaths

  • A 70-year-old man died at KEM hospital on Tuesday. He had hypertension and diabetes. 
  • A 45-year-old man died at a private hospital.

Pune Division
As on Tuesday, Pune division has reported 1,563 cases of COVID-19 as per the authorities. One hundred six new cases have increased since Monday evening. Out of these, 243 patients have been so far recovered and discharged. And 1,231 patients are still active across the division.

Dr Deepal Mhaisekar, Pune Divisional Commissioner, said that there had been 89 deaths in the division so far.

"Whereas 53 patients are critical, and the rest are in the isolation. With 104 new cases on Tuesday, there are 1,423 positive patients in Pune district. Eighty-one deaths are reported in the Pune district," said Mhaisekar.
