Coronavirus Pune: BJP corporators raise funds to fight COVID-19

At least 97 BJP corporators from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) have come forward and pledged donations of  Rs 2 lakh each in a bid to purchase of various medical kits and equipment to tackle the coronavirus situation.

Pune: At least 97 BJP corporators from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) have come forward and pledged donations of  Rs 2 lakh each in a bid to purchase of various medical kits and equipment to tackle the coronavirus situation.

The money will be given to the PMC administration from the corporators’ ward development funds.

According to a statement issued by BJP city unit president Jagdish Mulik, Rs 1.94 crore has been collected by 97 BJP corporators. Due to the coronavirus spread in the city, there is a need for additional funds, which will help to purchase ventilators, monitors, ECG Machines, X-ray machines.”

Maharashtra has been profoundly affected due to coronavirus with over 300 positive cases.
