Coronavirus Pune: 78 more test positive; death toll reaches 76
As per Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) authorities, on Monday, 78 patients tested positive, rising the city total to 1,217. With four more deaths in the city on Monday, so far, 76 patients have succumbed to COVID-19.

With four more deaths in the city on Monday, so far, 76 patients have succumbed to COVID-19. Also, 11 patients from PMC have recovered and discharged, taking the total to 176.
At the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), seven patients have tested positive. Overall cases stand at 96.
So far, four people have died at PCMC with no new deaths on Monday. So far, 29 patients till date have recovered and discharged from PCMC.
Pune deaths on Monday
Three deaths were reported at Sassoon General Hospital (SGH) on Monday. A 64-year-old woman, admitted at SGH in Pune on April 23 died due to complications last night. Her swab report came COVID positive on April 24. The patient had hypertension and diabetes.
A 48-year-old woman died due to complications of COVID-19. She had complaints of diabetes and hypertension. Meanwhile, a 38-year-old man with diabetes and kidney problems died at 10 am on Monday.
A senior citizen, 74, died in a private hospital. He has diabetes and tested positive for COVID-19.
As on Monday, Pune division has reported 1,457 cases of COVID-19 as per the authorities. Two hundred fifty-seven new cases have increased since Sunday evening. Out of these, 230 patients have been so far recovered and discharged. And 1,139 patients are still active across the division.
Dr Deepal Mhaisekar, the Pune divisional commissioner, said that there had been 88 deaths in the division so far.
"Whereas 48 patients are critical, and the rest are in isolation. With 225 new cases on Monday, there are 1,319 positive patients in Pune district. 80 deaths are reported in the Pune district," said Mhaisekar.
He further added Satara district has 33 positive patients and two have died so far.
"There are 65 patients in Solapur district, and five have died so far. There are 29 positive patients at Sangli and one death so far. And Kolhapur district has 11 positive patients," said Mhaisekar.
He further added that till Monday, there have been over 15,811 tests done across the Pune division. Out of these 13,428 test results have come negative and 1,457 are awaited.
