Coronavirus Pune: 41 new cases in the city

Pune: Between Sunday evening (8.30 pm) and Monday evening, 41 new patients tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) in Pune city.

As per health authorities, 28 of these patients are with private and government hospitals in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits, and seven are with Sassoon General Hospital under the State Health Department. One patient is from Pune rural. This has taken the total in Pune district to 141 patients till Monday.

As per health authorities, 107 patients in the city are stable, whereas four are critical. So far, 15 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and discharged from hospitals.

The number of COVID-19 patients in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area has reached 20 while eight cases are from Pune rural area. The number of cases under Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits has reached 113.

42 docs, 50 hospital staffers are under quarantine

• After an accident patient tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday at Dr DY Patil Hospital in Pimpri, swab samples of 42 doctors and 50 other medical staff of the hospital were sent for testing at National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune. 
• They have been put under quarantine at the hospital. 

120 new cases, 7 deaths in State 

• 120 patients tested positive in the State for COVID-19, taking the total to 868. 
• Seven deaths reported on Monday, taking total to 52 in the State. 
• Out of these seven, four patients are from Mumbai and one each from Navi Mumbai, Vasai-Virar and Thane.

Globally, the number of infected and death toll stands around 1.3 million and 71,300 (approx.) respectively. In India, the infected number surpassed the 4,500-mark.
