AAI instals automatic sanitising machines at Pune international airport

PUNE: Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials at Pune airport in Lohegaon are taking precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. All areas accessed by international passengers like arrival, standing for emigration and customs process, are being sanitised thrice a day.

Now, the authority has installed automatic sanitising machines for all staff including AAI, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and airline staff to use before any work.

“We have installed automatic sanitising machines at the office, near biometric machines and areas where staff are working round the clock. When employees put their hand below the tap of the machine, a 6 ml liquid will come and they can be used before work. Also, we are planning to install more machines at such places where the international passengers arrived,” said Pune Airport Director Kuldeep Singh.

The officials are planning to install machines near the international passengers’ arrival area. Before coming to the terminal building they use this machine and sanitise their hand. The machine will be installed in the immigration area and customs area also.

“Our staff is working round the clock. They are cleaning all areas. The ticket counters, elevators, stairs, security check area, departure area and all terminal buildings,” said Kuldeep Singh.
