The traditional German company Bosch has invented a new, promising testing kit. The automotive supplier Bosch also has a small division in medical technology, and from there comes a piece of surprising news that Bosch has developed a rapid test for coronavirus infections. The infection can be identified within two and a half hours, directly on-site, without transport routes that cost time and money.
The test will be made available in April, beginning for the German market only. While rapid tests for corona infections have so far had the reputation of being mostly inaccurate, Bosch is talking about the fact that the new test kit has achieved results with an accuracy of more than 95 per cent.
“The rapid test meets the quality standards of the World Health Organization (WHO),” according to Bosch, the largest automotive supplier in the world. The company states that the process is fully automated, molecular diagnostic tests that can be used by all medical facilities.
“With the Bosch Covid-19 rapid test, we want to contribute to the rapid containment of the corona pandemic. Infected patients can be identified and isolated more quickly,” Asia Times quoted Volkmar Denner, the boss of Stuttgart-based company.
In India, Bosch entered in 1922 and set-up its manufacturing operation in 1951. The company has grown over the years and currently has over 30,000 employees.
