Pune: The Software Exporters’ Association of Pune (SEAP) will host the 8th edition of its flagship event ‘Pune Connect 2019’ on Saturday, at Hyatt Regency, Pune. The event will be a day-long conference aimed at helping professionals and organisations to understand the recipe of success, said Chairman of Pune Connect Abhijit Atre, at a press conference in Pune.
Members of SEAP- President Ashwin Megha, Vice President Vidyadhar Purandare, and Programme Director of Pune Connect Swapnil Deshpande were present at the conference.
Since its inception in 2011, it has been bringing IT Enterprises, Start-ups, Scale-ups, ITES and engineering research organisations together on a common platform. The outline of the programme primarily is to help promote start-ups, which has become a hub for budding entrepreneurs and enterprises. This year, the organisers received 75 start-up applications, out of which 34 were interviewed and about 20 are invited to participate.
“There have been 776 applications from start-ups over the last 8 years and out of that, 258 have been given the chance to come up and show their products and services at the event. Besides learning about new technology trends and strategies to adopt and understand how technologies are evolving, the participants also get exposure and business networking opportunities with investors, VCs, and eco-system players in Pune,” said Ashwin Megha.
Speaking about the event, Atre said that with the world around us changing rapidly and technology taking a prominent part in our lives, it is important for individuals and organisations to prepare themselves to be part of the connected world.
At the event, top 5 start-ups will get an opportunity to present and pitch their ideafs for business and investment, while top 3 winners will get an invitation to get enrolled with the Hatch programme from Digital Ocean.
With the theme ‘Future in the Connected World’, the event will be divided into three parts dedicated to Technology, Research and Workforce. These sessions will cover some of the important trends likely to impact businesses. Business leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers, academicians and leadership experts will share their vision and experiences on how technology is impacting the lives of people or research is shaping the future of technology and discuss the future of workforce, inclusivity and leadership in the digital age.
