Jet2 Plans To Hire Pune Talent To Build Their Brand

Pune: To change customer experience with the help of technology, holiday firm Jet2  recently launched Jet2 Travel Technologies (Jet2TT) a Virtual Captive Centre (VCC) for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays set up by Dataction Analytics in Pune.

With the launch, Jet2 aims at modifying the travel business and use data to provide better services to its customers. Speaking about the development centre of Jet2TT, located in Vimannagar, Gary Isaacs, Chief Information Officer (CIO), Jet2 said the decision to start the VCC in Pune was taken as the city promised availability of good pool of talent. The CIO said the company will be taking help of latest technologies including cloud, mobile and application development to support their customer offerings. Speaking on expectations from Jet2TT, the CIO said that at initial level the resources at Jet2TT will assist their team in executing small projects.

“In coming future there will be more investments and resources which will help us use cutting edge technologies in our business,” added  Gary Isaacs.

The VCC in Pune is primarily set up to support Jet2’s rapid growth. Gary Brown, Executive Director and Group Chief Financial Officer – Dart Group (Parent company of Jet2.com & Jet2 Holidays) said, “Jet2 has always been dedicated to giving its customers memorable holiday experiences by offering great products and excellent customer service at affordable prices. Our company’s revenue has almost tripled since 2015, from £1.25 billion to £3.14 billion in 2019, while maintaining a very impressive profit growth, profitability having grown from £40 million to £177m in the same period. That is why we have decided to ramp up our technology team here in Pune which would aptly support our technology teams in Leeds and Sheffield (UK). Our strategy is cleat to re-invest, re-invest and re-invest.”

Commenting on the occasion, Saurabh Limaye, Managing Director, Jet2TT said, “The Jet2TT team will be working should to shoulder with the Leeds and Sheffield team. We are not looking at Jet2TT as a cost arbitrage model and so the resources will be working along with our UK colleagues.”

Saurabh said, “Hiring resources is not a problem but hiring a good one is. Currently we need people with strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies and mobile technologies.”

Speaking on association of Jet2 and Dataction Analytics, Gary Isaacs said their association with Dataction Analytics is over 18 months old. “We were engaged with Dataction Analytics for a proof-of-concept work which was completed in a few weeks which established the trust factor. The  association will help us in building the Jet2 brand,” added Gary Isaacs.
