City-based IISER alumni receive Rex Karmaveer Chakra Award

“During three consecutive days of Rex Karmaveer Chakra Conclave, I got a chance to meet so many change-makers in the society and their stories are inspiring and motivational. I feel more focused and motivated during this event and will keep doing the same,” said Sinha.

PUNE: Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research (IISER) alumni Kunal Sinha has received Rex Karmaveer Chakra Award (Bronze) in New Delhi on November 27 for his contribution of uplifting the poor by education. 

Rex Karmaveer Chakra Award is given every year for outstanding work in social impact with association iCongo and United Nations.

Sinha is an educationalist and founder-director of Shiksha Plus IIT and medical academy in Pune. 

He and Neha Kaur are the co-founders of Shiksha Plus providing free preparation for the medical entrance examination for the last 10 years to many students across Maharashtra with a poor financial background.

Former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and ‘Father of India’s White Revolution’ Dr Vergese Kurien are amongst the notable recipients of Karmaveer Chakra Award.
