In addition to their shows, movies and originals, Zee5 has announced a short film festival starting from Tuesday. As part of the festival, nine distinctive films across diverse genres of love, drama, thriller, comedy, family drama, will premiere exclusively on the platform.
"We are looking forward to premiering the Short Film Festival on April 15. Given the current scenario, the team at ZEE5 is pushing boundaries to provide its audience with unparalleled star-studded entertainment. The nine short films will also touch upon diverse conversation topics," said Aparna Acharekar, Programming Head, Zee5 India.
The lineup includes Half Full, which revolves around two men with contrasting attitudes, coming from two different worlds, but headed towards the same vertex. The Karan Rawal directorial stars Vikrant Massey and Naseeruddin Shah.
Heartbeat, directed by Manu Chobe, has a storyline about how Saanvi is all set to make the biggest decision of her life but not before getting some answers about humans. Anupriya Goenka and Rajeev Khandelwal are in the lead.
Ram Kamal Mukherjee's Season's Greetings talks about a mother-daughter relationship which stars Celina Jaitley and Lillette Dubey in another in the line and is based in Kolkata.
A Satarupa Sanyal-directorial 'How about a kiss?' is all about a student who falls in love with her professor. Rajat Kapoor and Ritabhari Chakraborty will be seen together in this film.
Second Hand starring Parul Gulati and Abhishek Banerjee is all about marriage, love and cheating and is directed by Navjot Gulati.
Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rajit Kapur and Shilpa Tulaskar' Svah! So Be It', directed by Gauri Daswani, is a family drama of a girl wanting to get married facing the most bizarre hurdle ever.
Food for Thought, directed by Tania Deohans, stars Rashi Mal, Alka Amin and Usha Nadkarni. Another in the lineup includes Boom Noom, a comedy film which stars Rhea Chakraborty and Manjot Singh and is directed by Sonam Nair. It is all about how marriage is not a bed of roses.
Last but not least, a new age drama titled Strawberry Shake is about a single father who tells his 19-year-old daughter to treat him as a friend. Still, things go wrong when she brings her boyfriend home, creating an awkward situation for her father. Directed by Shoneel Yallattikar, the film stars Sumit Raghavan and Hruta Durgule.
