YRF’s ‘Prithviraj’ to be shot in 35 lavish sets

The Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar-starrer Prithviraj is the first ever historical of YRF and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make it one of the grandest films ever seen on screen. According to sources, 35 lavish sets will be constructed for the shooting of the film, the most number of sets ever constructed for a Bollywood film.

“It is a film of epic proportions right from the word go. Akshay and Manushi’s historical will be shot in 35 different sets, most of which will be built in Maharashtra and a couple in Rajasthan. The makers want to make the film a gripping visual spectacle and are going all out to give audiences a visual extravaganza when they finally see the film on screen!” reveals a source close to the development.

“The film will have incredible fight sequences and will also showcase the opulence of kings and kingdoms back then. Thousands of workers will work day and night to construct these mammoth sized sets. It is definitely a new record that 35 sets are being constructed to shoot a film. This directly shows the level of visual delight that audiences will be a witness to in Prithviraj,” the source adds.

Prithviraj is based on the life and heroism of the fearless and mighty King Prithviraj Chauhan and superstar Akshay Kumar is essaying the role of the warrior. Historians and folk legends portray him as the last Hindu samrat of India. He fought valiantly against the merciless Muhammad of Ghor. Prithviraj’s daredevilry against Muhammad of Ghor catapulted him into a legendary ruler and fighter of free India. The gorgeous Manushi plays the role of his beloved Sanyogita and her launch is definitely one of the most awaited debuts of 2020.

Prithviraj is being directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi who directed the biggest television epic Chanakya – based on the life and times of the most influential political strategist of India and the multiple award-winning Pinjar. 

Prithviraj will release worldwide in Diwali 2020.
