(Un)mask your glow

(Un)mask your glow

The Koreans are known for two things – one is their famed K-Pop and second is their K-Beauty tricks and hacks that have given people a clearer and healthy looking skin. The Koreans have also given the world a series of sheet masks and face masks, that help in inducing a good amount of moisture back into the skin, making it look healthy and fresh.

Nidhi Dhody, head of marketing, The Faceshop India – a  skincare and cosmetics manufacturer — tells us how we can reap the benefits of these products. Dhody says that the sheet masks are drenched in powerful serums to tackle specific skin concerns. “They deliver instant results and are super convenient to use because, in just 20 minutes, the skin starts looking glowing, hydrated and healthy,” she says.

One can wear these masks after working out, before dinner, or a wedding to achieve the perfect glowing look.

The sheet masks are super easy to use and can be worn anywhere — from cars, flights, home or even while watching TV. “It’s best to incorporate them in your nighttime routine. Use a sheet mask after toner and before applying eye cream to get the skin of your dreams when you wake up!” explains Dhody.

The users must pick sheet masks according to their skin concerns and use them every night, because they nourish the skin from within by delivering active ingredients into its deepest layers.

“Apply the excess serum on your hands, legs, elbows and other dry parts of your body as a hack to achieve healthy-looking skin,”  she adds.

Sheet masks, however, should not be confused with a face masks. Dhody explains that face masks are generally wash-off or peel-off masks that help to clear or remove impurities from the skin, falling under the cleansing category. “Sheet masks, on the other hand, nourish and boost the skin, falling under skincare category. There is a vast difference in their application too. Face mask has a liquid component that dries after being applied while sheet masks are physical sheets that are to be rested on the face for at least 20 minutes,”  she says.
