Thai high!

Thai high!

Just as for millions of Indians, the first car has always been the humble Maruti 800 or Alto, for the outbound Indian travellers, Thailand has always been the first foreign destination. The number of Indians visiting Thailand each year has been growing at a phenomenal rate and to keep this going, Thailand seems to be adding new attractive locations to the list of places you can visit during a three or four day holiday in that country.

You land in Bangkok and go through the visa and immigration formalities, perhaps in the early hours of your day in the country. Just as you get out of the airport, two very attractive places have been developed in the recent years which you can visit within Bangkok itself. One of these is the SEA LIFE Bangkok located at the Siam Paragon shopping centre in the Pathumwan area of the city. The connectivity by bus or metro is good.

SEA LIFE Bangkok offers you the opportunity to get close to about 8000 sea species, take their pictures and even discover Thailand’s first ever Penguin ice adventure. You can catch the world’s fastest swimming Penguins in this place and take pictures up close with various sea creatures!

Another attraction is to be close to very large Sharks and watch the sand Tiger species of Sharks. The ocean tunnel created to give you the feel of actually being underwater is perhaps the best part of SEA LIFE. You can watch coral reef, jellies and even some other species like seahorses from close quarters.
As you walk out of SEA LIFE, not too far away from this place is one of the newest attractions of Bangkok and that’s Madame Tussauds wax museum in the city at the Siam discovery Rama 1 Road in Pathumwan area.

You can step into a stunning experience where you can actually pose with some of the world’s most prominent icons like Barak Obama, Princess Diana, Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Michael Jackson, Mark Zuckerberg and even some Indian film industry icons. The museum now has a newly established Bollywood stars section where film stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Shah Rukh Khan’s very realistic life size statues are seen. The place includes a 4D hall where you can watch the show of Ice Age in 4 D.

So before you head for any beach location like Pattaya or Phuket, Bangkok has these new attractions to give you a thrilling welcome experience to the country on your day one in Thailand. Definitely worth giving a shot!
