Shweta Tiwari to make a comeback after 3 years with ‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’

The actress who took a sabbatical from TV to concentrate on motherhood, is making a comeback. The actress will be seen in Sony Entertainment Televisions’ upcoming show — Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, which is a coming of age story.

The show, which is produced by DJ’s Creative Unit, also stars debutant actress Anjali Tatatri and Varun Badola. The story revolves around how this father-daughter duo navigate through life and the dynamics of their relationship which focuses on their dependency on each other.

Shweta will be seen in a refreshing Punjabi character adding the much-needed tadka to the story.

Recently, the trio came together to shoot for the promo of the show. While the camaraderie was quite visible, newcomer Anjali was also made to feel at home.

Says Shweta, “I am coming back on television after three years and have selected Mere Dad Ki Dulhan as my comeback because it is a very different character. I am portraying a lot of emotions and it’s hilarious at the same time. My character of Guneet is a relatable one, we find people like her everywhere. I love stepping into a unique character each time and this is what I am looking forward to with Mere Dad ki Dulhan.”

“For my look in the show, the makers didn’t want my long hair hence I am keeping it short. She is outspoken, straight forward and full of life in short,” she further added.
