Sexism? Not cool bhai!

Salman Khan’s statements often ruffle a few feathers. While Bhai thinks this is all cheeky and done in good humour, the truth is that a lot of his comments have consistently been in poor taste, ‘sexist’ to be precise. Remember his ‘felt like a raped woman’ remark?  He’s at it again.

During his film Bharat’s promotions, he has been taking digs at Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who quit the film because she was tying the knot. During a press conference, Salman said, “She (Priyanka Chopra), over Bharat, did choose USA in the ‘nick’ of time. She has worked so hard all her life, okay? And when she got the biggest film of her life, she dumped that film and got married. You know, hats off! Usually, people leave their husbands for a film like this.” Salman here proved his arrogance by stating that nothing is above his films.

Further showing his male chauvinistic mindset, he answered on Katrina’s behalf at a press conference when she was asked about her decision to become a producer. He interrupted and said,  “She should be married and produce children.” Despite the actress clarifying that the question concerns a profession, Salman, said, “Both marriage and kids require a lot of work.”

He continued to interfere whenever Katrina spoke to answer reporters at other events too. He kept calling her ‘Priyanka.’ “Priyanka didn’t give us enough time to prepare. It was sweet of her (Priyanka) to tell us five days before the shoot that she couldn’t do Bharat,” he said.

This has left netizens fuming and lashing out at the superstar. However, loyal Bhai fans have started defending him, and trolling and abusing those criticising him.
