Satyajeet Dubey to star in sci-fi show

Satyajeet Dubey is all set to star in a sci-fi show— Maharaj Ki Jai Ho, backed by Star Plus. The finite series will blend in science fiction and mythology with the narrative tilting towards the comic space. According to sources, it taps into our rich cultural heritage and goes back as far as the Mahabharat.

Excited, ecstatic and nervous, Satyajeet says, “I am over the moon about this show because a show like this can be a game-changer for content. The character is a real person from today's time but the story has a futuristic, mystical quality. Real people have reference points, but in this fantasy genre, it required devotion, commitment and learning. I want to try my best to understand the background of this part; it's so complex that I am waiting to embark on this adventure. It is a fantastic script, one that will make people sit up and notice the sheer power of good content. It's an intrinsically Indian story which is ambitious and grand, nothing short of a visual spectacle if made right.”

The actor, who will be seen in Sanjay Dutt and Ali Fazal-starrer Prassthanam, says that after reading the initial 10 episodes of Maharaj Ki Jai Ho, he couldn’t stop laughing. “Here’s some really interesting comic writing, with the elements of time travel, sci fi, and the script is the backbone of any series/movie and that convinced me to go ahead.”

Directed and written by David Polycrap, produced by Fuzzy Duck, the show also stars Nitesh Pandey, Ashwin Mushran, Aakash Dhabade amongst others.
