The rising stars

The rising stars

They are the future of the film industry. But not all debutants manage to leave a strong impression on the critics and the audience. The year 2019 saw the emergence of several new faces. While some belong to the filmy families, others made it completely on their own.
Here’s looking at 10 debutant actors who impressed everyone...

SIDDHANT CHATURVEDI
He is definitely most special and the biggest find of the year. Siddhant Chaturvedi delivered an absolutely memorable performance in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. The actor found instant stardom with his portrayal of MC Sher and we love his boy-next-door looks. Siddhant has signed YRF’s Bunty aur Babli 2, which also stars Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan and Sharvani.

ANANYA PANDEY
From her nuanced acting to her young girl charm, Ananya has sure made a splash with just two films this year. She was liked for her work both in Student of The Year 2 and Pati Patni aur Woh. The actress is quite popular on social media. She will next be seen in Khali Peeli opposite Ishaan
Khatter.

SAIEE MANJREKAR
Filmmaker and actor Mahesh and actress Medha Manjrekar’s daughter Saiee played Salman Khan’s love interest in the recently released Dabangg 3. The 21-year-old has got a thumbs up from critics. Not everyday one gets launched by Salman and Saiee was seen attending events and awards alongside the actor. Though, she is yet to announce her next project, we hope she gets something powerful.

PRANUTAN BAHL
Nutan’s granddaughter and Mohnish Behl’s daughter, Pranutan was launched by Salman Khan in his production Notebook. The film also launched another newcomer Zaheer Iqbal. The actress bowled everyone with her innocent look and simplicity. She will start working on her second project Helmet, which stars Aparshakti Khurana.

MEEZAAN JAFFERY
Both this grandfather and father have been known faces in the film industry. Meezan, son of Javed Jaffery made his debut with Malaal, which was produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film fared poorly at the box-office but Meezan got noticed. The actor had started his career as an assistant director on Bajirao Mastani.

Early this week, his second project Hungama 2 was announced. Directed by Priyadarshan, it also stars Paresh Rawal and Shilpa Shetty.

TARA SUTARIA
Tara Sutaria had not one but two releases this year. Making her B-town debut with Student of the Year 2, she quickly made a place for herself in fans’ hearts with her fashion sense and acting talent. The actress will be next seen in Tadap, which is the launch vehicle of Suniel Shetty’s son Ahaan.

ABHIMANYU DASSANI
Choosing an out-of-the-box film like Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota for his debut, Abhimanyu Dassani proved that he is an actor driven by content and story. Son of actress Bhagyashree, Abhimanyu got noticed by critics and audience for his screen presence. The actor has already bagged his second project – Nikamma, to be directed by Shabbir Khan.

VARDHAN PURI
With Amrish Puri as his grandfather, it did not come as a surprise that Vardhan wanted to be an actor too. Though his debut film Yeh Saali Aashiqui did not do well at the box office, critics praised his work. The thriller lacked a punch, many observed. We hope Vardhan gets to showcase his talent with his next project.

KARAN DEOL
It’s not easy to carry the legacy of the Deol family. Grandson of Dharmendra and son of Sunny Deol, Karan made his debut with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. The film was directed by his father and turned out to be a box-office disaster. But critics praised Karan’s acting and his pairing with another debutante Sahher Bambba. We hope Karan, who is quite active on social media, gets an interesting project as his second.

ANKITA LOKAHNDE
Though Ankita is not new to showbiz, the actress made her big screen debut with Manikarnika. The actress portrayed the role of Archana in Zee TV’s popular serial Pavitra Rishta. She also participated in several reality shows. After years of speculation over her Bollywood debut, it was finally announced that Ankita will play a pivotal role in the period drama. She will be next seen playing Shraddha Kapoor’s sister in Baghi 3.
