Puja Banerjee to enter ‘Vish’

Puja Banerjee is set to enter Colors’ popular supernatural series Vish. The actress calls the stint a cameo and says that she is playing the role of a spider. “I am a fan of Spider-Man and finally I am getting the chance to play Spider-Woman (laughs). I am really excited because the character is very interesting. There are many twists and turns,” says Puja, who will enter the series this week.

She adds that she hasn’t done a supernatural show or portrayed a character like this before. “I wanted to try something new and the audience will also get to see something different. It’s going to be a glamourous character, and I hope the audience will like it,” says the actress who was last seen in Dev, a thriller which aired on the same channel.

Playing a supernatural character requires much more effort from an actor, says Puja because the character is unrealistic. “It’s more difficult to play such characters. I know that it is going to be a challenge, but I always love challenges,” she says, adding that she also loves watching supernatural shows whenever she gets the time. “You get to see something different and that makes it so interesting,” she says.

The current fad on television is supernatural content, specially with shows like Daayan, Naagin and others. Puja says that audiences are liking these shows. “It’s the new trend,” she adds.

Vish also stars Debina Bonnerjee, Vishal Vashishtha, Krrip Kapur Suri and Sana Makbul Khan. The actress says that because it’s a on-going show, the actors have already established their chemistry, but she is trying to catch up. “It shouldn’t look like I have just entered the show. I should be familiar with my character and how it is connected to others,” says the actress who has worked in series like Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki, Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna, Qubool Hai and others.

Puja says that she signs shows which interests her. “The character or the script has to interest me. Dev was very interesting and so I was a part of both the seasons. I was playing a grey character with multiple layers,” she says as she points out that she is not taking up full-fledged TV shows because she is busy with her production house. “It takes time to establish your own business. That’s why I am not taking up either films or daily shows. We are working on a web series which we will announce soon. Right now, I can’t speak about the projects we are working on,” she signs off.
