Paradise regained

National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) Pune is leaving no stone unturned to usher in their 15th annual inter college techno cultural fest — Technikala 2020 which is all set to take place in the city from February  21 to 23. The theme of the fest is ‘A Portal into Paradise’ where the students will explore what paradise means to each of us.

Technikala will have over 30+ exciting events in a number of domains like technical, business, cultural, literary, design, sports, gaming, photography and so on. For the first time, Technikala is organising an Entrepreneurship summit on February 23 which will have three eminent speakers followed by a workshop on stock market.

This year, Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal has been chosen as the Proshow artist. He will be performing live on the same day at the NICMAR Pune campus.

To promote their fest, they had a number of prelude events. The first was at Bajaj Allianz Pune Half Marathon where NICMARians gathered at the cheering station at Balewadi High Street and motivated the runners participating in the marathon. The students also put up a tableau performance spreading awareness of women’s safety.

The second prelude event was conducted within the campus which revealed the Proshow artist for this year’s Technikala. There were several other activities too like tug of war, arm wrestling and lemon and spoon race. The Proshow artist’s name was revealed with a drop down banner which led to further excitement and cheer among the students.

The third prelude event was a one day sporting event that was organised for the college students called Technikala Premier League, where students had to come forward and curate their own teams and battle it out to win the championship. The students participated with great fervour and enthusiasm in the event.

The fourth prelude event saw a flash mob and a musical performance at Westend Mall. A soulful music performance was followed by rap and then a catchy dance performance involved mall visitors in the activity.

For the fest to be conducted over this weekend, NICMAR has other interesting events coming up like cyclothon and so on.
