Marvel’lous shows

Marvel fans can’t get enough of their favourite superheroes on the big screen. Everyone’s waiting eagerly for the second part of the Infinity Wars to release next year to find out about the fate of their heroes. Meanwhile, Marvel junkies can explore different areas of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) by binge watching these shows:

Jessica Jones
The show traces the life of Jessica, a former superhero who currently runs a detective agency. The show does away with the usual notions of a superhero and brings a humane side to it. Jessica lives with a troubled past and makes the show one of the most interesting Marvel TV shows of all time. You can stream Jessica Jones on Netflix.

The Gifted
The show follows the life of mutant children who, along with their parents, are running from the government. A TV spin-off of the X-Men series, this show brings some new and highly underrated characters like the Polaris, Thunderbird and Blink. Catch the travails of this mutant family only on Star World in India.

Luke Cage
Luke Cage isn’t just about a man who has superhuman strength and unbreakable skin but is also inherently a social commentary on today’s world. The gritty and dark show has a gripping storyline. Unlike other superhero shows, this one takes a much darker tone along with its many action sequences. Stream this compelling seven-episode series on Netflix.

Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger
Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson come from starkly different backgrounds, each growing up with a secret they never dared share with another soul. Tandy Bowen watched as her family was destroyed by a disastrous storm that uprooted her life, and when everything he held close was taken away, life taught Tyrone not to be afraid. Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Agent Carter
Set in the 1940s, it is truly mesmerising right from its pilot episode. Agent Carter is ahead of her times, a fearless and righteous woman who isn’t afraid of standing up for her beliefs and battling, to be taken seriously in what is predominantly a man’s world. Catch Agent Carter on Amazon Prime Video.

The Punisher
One of the first anti-heroes on television, this former Marine is now known as The Punisher. In the wake of the murder of his wife and children, he becomes a vigilante like no other. On a quest to seek revenge for his family’s gruesome murders, he delves deeper into the conspiracies that affect more than just his family. He is focused, gritty and formidable. Catch this merciless superhero on Netflix.
