Sakal Times Couture Weekend Season 1 is taking place at Amanora The Fern Hotels & Clubs, Hadapsar
After the grand success of the second edition of Sakai Beauty of Maharashtra, Sakal Times is all set to take Punekars on a journey of glitz, glamour and fashion with Sakal Times Couture Weekend. The three-day fashion show, which will take place at Amanora The Fern Hotels & Clubs, Hadapsar, between May 17 and 19, will witness designers and labels like Deepak Mane (Tasta), Babita Malkani (Babita M), Ronak Sayyed (Raunnakk), Amar Ghanasingh, Naksh by Men’s Avenue, Neeru’s and RI Ritu Kumar (Remembering the Silk Road) showcasing their spectacular collections. Lovell Prabhu is the choreographer and show director of Sakal Times Couture Weekend which will see some big names from film world on the runway. While Pushkar Jog, and Pallavi Patil will walk the ramp for Tasta, Sonali Sehgal and Pooja Sawant will be the showstoppers for Babita Malkani. Raunak Sayeed’s collection will be showcased by Mrunmai Kolwalkar. Tanvie Kishore and Simran Kaur Mundi will walk the runway for Amar Ghanasingh. For Naksh by Men’s Avenue, actor Saurabh Gokhale is turning the showstopper. Neeru’s collection will be presented by Smita Gondkar. Sonali Kulkarni and Bhagyeshree will showcase RI Ritu Kumar’s Remembering the Silk Road collection
Pallavi debuted in Marathi industry with Classmates. She has acted in several Marathi films such as 702 Dixits, Shentimental, Tu Tithe Asave, 24, and Savita Damodar Paranjpe.
This Pune boy started acting from the young age of 4. He went on to work in Hindi films as a teenager. He later made his foray into Marathi films and is appreciated for his roles in films like Ti and Ti among others. Last year, he participated in the first season Marathi Bigg Boss and there too, he won over the audience.
Smita Gondkar acts primarily in Marathi and Hindi films and was also seen in Marathi music video Pappi De Parula. She is a professional stunt biker and was the only female semi-finalist on the show MTV Stunt Mania in 2009. She has starred in Marathi films like Mumbaicha Dabewala, Satya - More Than Human, Hip Hip Hurrah and Bayko No 1.
Sonali started off her career as a ramp model before participating in the Miss India Worldwide competition. After featuring in several music videos, she made her Bollywood debut with Pyar Ka Punchnama. She went on to work in Wedding Pulav, High Jack and Setters. She will soon be seen with Sunny Singh in a comedy titled Jai Mummy Di.
Having made her debut with Kshanbhar Vishranti in 2010, Pooja has acted in a blockbuster like Zhakaas opposite Ankush Choudhary, and also in Satrangi Re, Poshter Boyz and so on. She has been a part of several Marathi reality shows including Eka Peksha Ek Jodicha Mamala and Jallosh Suvarnayugacha. She also participated in dance reality show Boogie Woogie.
Simran Kaur Mundi
Simran was crowned Miss India Universe 2008. After earning name and fame as a model, she made her Bollywood debut with Jo Hum Chahein. She has worked in Hindi, Telugu and Punjabi films and was part of films like Best of Luck, Potugadu, Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi and Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon.
When it comes to acting, language is no barrier for Tanvie who has featured in Marathi, Hindi and Konkani films. That’s not all, she can speak 11 languages. Her debut film Raada Rox was well received and she was lauded for her performance in Sagar Ballary’s film Bhatukali. She also acted in Biker’s Adda, Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi, Viraat Veer Maratha, Galbat and O La La.
Having started her career as a model, Mrinmai was seen in the TV show Rahul Dulhania Le Jayenge. The Fergusson College alumna has also done commercial ads and won a lot of titles in beauty pageants. She entered Marathi film industry with Miss Match, in which she starred along with Bhushan Pradhan. She was also seen in TV shows like Kulswamini, Ek Zunj Vadalashi, Mai Lek, and Koi Toh Hoga Apna (Hindi).
This Pune boy was always interested in theatre. He participated in the Purshottam drama competition in his college days. Saurabh debuted in the serial Shrimant Peshwa Bajirao Mastani on small screen. But it was the serial Radha Hee Bavri, for which he had garnered a lot of attention. He later went on to star in films like Bho Bho, Partu, Shinma, Talav and recently, Rohit Shetty’s blockbuster Simmba.
Bhagyashree started her acting career with Kachchi Dhoop, a Doordarshan serial by Amol Palekar and is best known for her debut in the film Maine Pyar Kiya, for which she won many awards. She has also appeared in Kannada, Marathi, Telugu and Bhojpuri films.
It was her childhood passion and dream to act. Sonali first made entered the film world through a Tamil movie titled Cheluvi, and thereafter has appeared in a total of 32 movies, including one in Italian titled Fuoco Si Di Me. She has worked in Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi, Hindi, and Tamil films. She is known for her roles in Doghi, Deool, Dil Chahta Hai, Singham and Taxi No 9211. She will be seen in a yet-to-be named Netflix thriller soon.
