‘LOVE STORY BOOKS’
I mostly consume information through the internet and a lot of story books. I love reading story books of all kinds. The colours and content in them interests me a lot. That is my favourite medium for information and entertainment. Apart from them, I also enjoy sports, and actively participate in them at school. My parents, are, however, keen on me engaging in books the most.
— Eesha Sabnis, 11, Bareilly

‘INTERNET IS THE WAY’
Most of the information I need is available online. Considering that my parents own a cyber café, it is all the more convenient and easier for me to surf the net in my free time. It is my favourite pastime. I learn about a lot of things online — from architecture to fictional stories, I get everything here. I also enjoy playing games online. This apart, I play a lot of outdoor games including swimming and skating. It keeps the balance. My parents constantly encourage me to engage in outdoor activities.
— Yash Patil, 10, Alibag

‘LISTENING TO RADIO’
While internet is the most used medium for gathering information, I love listening to the radio. From songs, to news, and a lot of other information, it gives me everything. Information and entertainment — radio is the perfect medium for both of these. I also enjoy painting as a pastime. I have been painting for quite a few years now and it acts as good refreshment from the usual study routine. My parents, however, insist that I focus on studies the most now.
— Resham Mulchandani, 14, Mumbai

‘TOURS TEACH YOU MUCH’
I get most of my information on the internet and like it too. There is so much to read and watch online, I can never get bored. From online books, to games, to movies, there’s so much that the internet has to offer. But I also love playing outdoor games and going on tours. My parents usually sign me up for these study tours and excursions and they teach me so much. The world outside has so much to offer us.
— Giridhar Gera, 11, Pune

‘PARENTS ENCOURAGE MY HOBBIES’
While I consume information over the internet, through story books and television, I love TV the most. Given that it is an audio-visual medium, it never fails to interest me. There are so many channels that give you movies, documentaries, music, wildlife information and travel shows — it is an unending source of knowledge and entertainment. I also enjoy roller skating, and practise abacus mental arithmetic as well because it challenges my mind. My parents encourage me for all of these in moderate quantities.
