A kingly surprise by the Queen

Beyoncé dropped her new single from her upcoming The Lion King album. The track titled Spirit was dropped as she walked the red carpet for The Lion King premiere in Los Angeles. Queen Bee has done the voiceover for Nala in Disney’s live-action remake of the 1994 film.

The soundtrack has been produced and curated by Beyoncé herself. The album The Lion King: The Gift, which features global artists and steeps in the sounds of Africa, will release on July 19 along with the movie.

Netizens were quick to respond to this surprise and took to various social media platforms to express how they felt about the song. The BeyHive believe that the soundtrack is already in the race to win the Academy Award because of the uplifting mood of the track.

Many of the fans also expressed that they can’t wait to listen to all the songs that the said album will feature. And they swear till then they are going to listen to this song on loop and on blast.

A Beyhive, Ani Bundel tweeted: “Beyoncé Never Does Things By Halves.” While another user who goes by the username ‘Constancely Over It’ tweeted, “Spirit is very gospel. Bless. I miss a soundtrack song that you can hop in church too, it was such a 90s move.”

Sure the ’90s kids are looking forward to relive their experience of The Lion King and with Queen Bee dropping the new track, the excitement levels are higher.
