Madhuri Dixit’s debut Marathi film Bucket List is creating a lot of buzz since its teaser came out. Now, the latest news is that Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is set to present the film along with AA Films. Directed Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, the film will see Madhuri on the silver screen after a gap of four years.
While interacting with ST, a couple of months back, the actress had said that she found her character fascinating. “It’s a slice-of-life kind of story where the woman discovers herself. Her journey is fabulous, sweet and entertaining. It’s a family-oriented film.”
This is Dharma Productions’ second collaboration with regional cinema after Baahubali. Confirming the news about presenting the film, Karan said in a statement, “I’ve been a staunch believer in regional cinema and since Baahubali, I am confident that good cinema with a great platform breaks the barriers of language. Moreover, the opportunity to launch the superstar actor Madhuri Dixit in her mother language is going to be my absolute pleasure. Together with the team of Bucket List and AA films, we hope that this heartwarming film gets all the love it deserves.”
Sharing her reaction, Madhuri said, “I longed to work in Marathi films and with my debut through Bucket List, my wish is getting fulfilled. Marathi films have been content driven and evoking interest world over. There couldn’t be a better birthday month gift for me than Karan presenting it this summer. Like my millions of fans, I am truly excited and look forward to sharing my experience with you all.”
Madhuri and Karan are also working together in latter’s Bollywood home production, to be directed by Abhishek Verman. The actress has replaced late actress Sridevi in the untitled film, which also stars Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Aditya Roy Kapur.
As for Bucket List, the film produced by Dark Horse Cinemas Pvt Ltd, Dar media Pvt Ltd and Blue Mustang Creations Pvt Ltd, is set to release on May 25. It also stars Sumeet Raghavan, Shubha Khote, Renuka Shahane, Dilip Prabhavlkar and others.
