With summer at its peak, staying hydrated is essential.  A refreshing drink can help you rejuvenate, but do remember to stay away from packaged and aerated drinks and  instead indulge in healthy and tasty beverages.  Here is a list of three unique summer beverages that can help you beat the heat. 

Banana Thandai 
Perfect for the soaring temperatures, a glass of chilled Thandai is sure to keep you energised. Add in the sweetness of fresh bananas to give the traditional drink an offbeat yet delicious flavour. 

Ingredients
*Bananas………….2 
*Milk……………...150 ml
*Thandai syrup…………..40 ml 
*Ice………...4 cubes 

Method  
*Combine all the ingredients, blend together and serve.

Sandalwood and watermelon cooler
One of the best summer fruits is watermelon and it’s even better when combined with fragrant sandalwood syrup. This thirst-quenching drink is exotic and filled with health benefits. 

Ingredients
*Watermelon juice………...150 ml
*Sandalwood syrup……….20 ml 
*Crushed ice……...4 cubes 

Method 
*Mix all the ingredients together (use a shaker for the perfect drink).
*Serve in a martini glass and garnish with edible flowers.

Tamarind and Palm Jaggery Panakkam
A popular summer cooler from South India, the Panakkam is a refreshing drink. This tangy and sweet mix is a fun treat for the taste buds! Made with tamarind and jaggery, along with spices like ginger and cardamom, this beverage is great for hydration.

Ingredients
*Tamarind water………..60 ml 
*Jaggery syrup………...40 ml 
*Black salt…………..1/2 tsp 
*Cumin powder………..1/2 tsp

Method
*Add all the ingredients step by step and stir.
*Add ice if required and shake well.
* Garnish with cumin powder before serving.
