Huma to star in a film on LGBTQ community?

According to sources, the Leila actress was also seen interacting with the volunteers of the LGBTQ community and probed into their journeys. Her recent visit has sparked conjecture that she is prepping for her upcoming film.

Well on her way to international stardom, Huma Qureshi has been making headlines ever since she landed a pivotal role in Zack Snyder’s Army Of The Dead. All eyes have been on the gorgeous actress’s next move after she achieved the commendable feat of being the only Indian talent on Film Independent’s New Wave Actors’ list. The actress recently visited India Culture Lab. Ever since then, speculation is rife about  Huma headlining a project that is based on the LGBTQ community in India. 

A fluid experimental space, India Culture Lab is a pro-LGBTQ community that cross-pollinates ideas and people to explore what it means to be modern and Indian. A few days ago, Huma was spotted with the founder of the organisation, Parmesh Shahani.

After Section 377 was repealed by the Supreme Court of India, there has been a rise in the number of films based on same sex love that was earlier considered unnatural. Going by the stunner’s latest manoeuvre, it seems Huma is about to venture into a new genre.
