Team Pune International Literary Festival (PILF) is launching the International Festival of Spiritual India (IFSI), in the city starting today (February 22). To be held till February 24 at YASHADA, it will have about 20 sessions, 17 workshops and some performances and presentations. Some sessions will be in Marathi language.

Prataprao Pawar, Chairman- Sakal Media Group, will formally inaugurate the festival on February 22, at 12.15 pm. Post the launch, there will be a special session titled Spiritually Yours, Pratap Pawar.

At another session called Spiritually Yours, Sakal, which will be held on February 24 at 11.40 am, author and festival director Dr Manjiri Prabhu wil be in conversation with Abhijit Pawar, MD-Sakal Media Group and Chairman, APGlobale.

HIGHLIGHTS
IFSI will have a Meditation Hall. For all the three days, guided meditation will be conducted in this hall every one hour. Four types of meditation — Mantra meditation, Kirtan yoga, Silent meditation (Healing pranayam) and Repeating prayers of the great rishis and munis — will be held here.

An interesting feature of this festival is a Confession Room, a special space where people can unload their emotional baggage and release pent-up stress in seclusion.

The sessions will include topics such as yoga, faiths, meditation, well-being, the arts, nutrition, food, entertainment, the isms and cults, spiritual symbols in the world, spiritual centres, soul-connects and relationships, healing practices and so on.

OBJECTIVES
The IFSI aims to demystify the concept of spirituality and bring it to the grass-root level for everyone. The other objectives of the fest are: to make us aware of what spiritual India means and understand and try to imbibe its values in our day-to-day existence, to understand and connect the myriad thoughts and concepts of spirituality in other parts of the world with those in spiritual India, to encourage everyone to find their own path to spirituality, to tap and rediscover the deeply engraved spirituality already within us, to focus on our purpose for being in this world and lastly, to document and create an archive of the wisdom shared by the participating experts.
