Closet Redefined by Kajal Agarwal is a celebration of fashion and style resplendence. Hence, every stunning ensemble is a creation with several data points in mind like the occasion, budget, silhouette, body type, complexion, trends, uniqueness, style, fabrics and the sole purpose to have it in your closet, all executed by Agarwal.
Agarwal was born and brought up in Pune. And even though her academic path led to the world of corporates for 12+ years, her hobby and passion was always the textures, designs and how she can contribute to the world of fashion. “When it comes to fashion and design, my aim was to make customised clothing easily accessible to all at a good rate,” says Agarwal.
Another factor that helped her take the leap in fashion was when she found it impossible to leave her children at the day care for more than 10 hours a day. “The void and guilt was enough for me to take the courageous step to start my brand from a small room in my backyard,” says Agarwal. This small room grew to two stores in the city in a span of just two years. Agarwal claims that her entire experience and learning from the corporate world and her mentors like her parents, Ganesh Natarajan, Jaideep Kewalramani and Shumita Mahajan have paved the way for her success.
She has a long list of awards and accomplishments and recently even presented her fashion label at Madras Couture Fashion Week 2019. “In today’s world, nobody wants to spend hours in traffic and buy fabrics hopping from one store to the other and then find a designer to execute the style and wish list. Closet Redefined solves all the running around, as one can place their made to order outfit wish list on their website from any part of the world,” says Agarwal. The website allows one to upload the design they desire to wear for special occasions.
She points out that they are not only limited to ethnic wear but the brand also specialises in formal wear, party gowns, redefining and reusing old sarees and much more. “I am constantly trying to reduce waste created from this field by using the left over fabrics in a creative way,” says Agarwal who believes that creativity has no boundaries and she thoroughly enjoys being part of her clients’ special occasions through her designs and innovations.

Tania Gehani had spent more than a decade as a Trousseau Packing Specialist and her clients were happy with her work. It led to her getting more opportunities and she became a well established name in the field. But on her surprise 40th birthday party when she was cutting her cake, it suddenly struck her that she wanted to do something new, something that would keep her active and physically fit.
So at 40, Gehani decided to change her calling and become a fitness instructor. Cut to six years later and she now leads two centres for aqua fitness and one for personal fitness, besides being Pune’s leading coach on aqua fitness. Gehani is a well-known name in the fitness circle now. She says that this five year journey saw her becoming a double certified fitness coach. She has set up a much-sought-after personal trainer practice and regularly keeps herself abreast with the latest trends in fitness, health and nutrition.
Gehani says that some of her personal training clients were large bodied or faced varying health issues that prevented them from any kind of regular workout. “But I was keen on helping them and wanted to seek a platform where each and every one could be part of my gym. So I started my own aqua gym that was equipped with all the workout equipment,” she says.
Gehani explains that water therapy is the best form of an exercise and allows the heaviest to thinnest body forms to burn extra calories with fat burner workouts under the water. “The water’s support reduces the pressures and pains and also helps with cardio vascular stamina with an increase in strength, circulation and flexibility,” says Gehani.
She points out that there is an unmistakable assist in rehabilitating healing muscles and joints because of which aqua fitness is also recommended for those suffering from PCOS and orthopaedic challenges. “Aqua fitness makes it fun with a heavy induced dose of laughter and fun that a ladies batch invariably brings along,” adds Gehani.
She adds that the feedback from her clients keeps her going and motivates her to do better. Gehani has been associated with Round Table and is also an active member of FICCI FLO.
