An exclusive exhibition, Pune Trunk Show (PTS), showcasing the best of designs and lifestyle products, was recently held in the city. Sakal Times was the media partner for the event, which ushered in fresh designs and perspectives.

The event, which was inaugurated by Mrunal Pawar, director, Sakal Media Group and Latika Sakla, who was the chief guest, saw the participation of 18 designers.  The designers exhibited apparel, footwear, jewellery and Ayurvedic products like soaps, creams, lotions and so on.

Varsha Talera, advisory chairperson of the Pune Trunk Show and fashion designer, said, “The PTS was conceptualised in 2018 when four-five designers decided to collaborate and do a joint exhibition. We wish to take the show next to Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Nagpur and other cities. This exhibition helps build a rapport with our clients, who also have the liberty to check out other brands. It is a win-win situation for us. For this show, Ranka Jewellers was our partner, which gave PTS a touch of exclusivity.”

Designer Sonam Parmar Jhawar said that she got an overwhelming response for her collection.“I believe in life, love and sparkle. I have always loved things that are blingy. I have been designing for six years now, but it was only four years ago that I began putting up exhibitions and started my store,” said Jhawar.

Megha & Kalpesh, a brand by Megha and Kalpesh Oswal, displayed their wedding collection. Megha said, “We have been designing for 15 years and specialise in clothes for the bride and groom. We have come up with a new collection called ‘Blessings From The Wind’ which has been inspired by Tibetan flags. They have very vibrant and bright colours and the collection has received a good response from people all over.”

Ruby Pashankar started her brand, Rubani, three and a half years ago, with kids collection. Now it has diversified into women’s wear. She said, “Due to PTS, my brand has picked up and has been getting an amazing response. I design fusion wear as I like to play around styles. Most of my upcoming designs will be in Western wear  because I like them. But I also do Indian designs because they are in demand.”
