The programme commenced with a national invocation, Jayjay Mataram by Shah (Kathak) and Nikhil and Meghana (Contemporary). It was followed by a Bharatanatyam choreography by Rama Kuknoor and group.

Under the auspices of Shastriya Nrutya Sanwardhan Sanstha (SNSS) Nad-Akriti founded by Ketaki Shah presented a dance programme titled, Swadharme Nidhanam Shreyaha — Glory to die for one’s duty. The programme was held as a tribute to the Pulwama martyrs and a salute to the Indian armed forces on behalf of the Pune dancers’ fraternity.

The programme commenced with a national invocation, Jayjay Mataram by Shah (Kathak) and Nikhil and Meghana (Contemporary). It was followed by a Bharatanatyam choreography by Rama Kuknoor and group. The piece was based on the immortal contribution by Rabindranath Tagore in boosting the morale of Indian freedom fighters.

Ameera Patankar beautifully narrated two seamlessly woven stories based on the life of unarmed soldiers like Venu Gopal. Gopal, who is a software engineer, cleaned 17 acres patch of a beach, which he used to pass by everyday. His work inspired hundreds of other people in joining him.
