The crown of dreams

The crown of dreams

Some people believe in luck, while some make their own fate simply by believing in themselves and taking a leap into a direction that their heart chooses.

Recently Amruta Mishra from Pune won the title of Mrs Popular in Miss and Mrs Inter-nations 2018-2019 which was held in Singapore. And now she is preparing to represent India at Mrs Universe 2019 to be held in Philippines in December.

Talking to Mishra, we find out about her journey and how she has learnt to be hopeful in life. Mishra says that she had to go through a lot of hardships after her first marriage broke up. But she did not give up and kept moving forward, for herself and for her son. “With remarriage and some personal health losses, I decided to bounce back,” she says, adding that what she needed to do was just work hard, with dedication.

She points out that after she decided to quit her job in an IT firm in Pune, she wanted to return to fitness which has been her passion since her younger days. “Whatever I am today is because of fitness, it really gives me that extra energy boost and the glow,” she says adding that she even decided to pursue a course in Nutrition and Wellness, not just to reap its benefits but also to help others heal through healthy choices.

Talking about her journey, Mishra says that she had never thought that she would one day participate in a beauty pageant. “But when I started taking care of myself and paid attention to my body, just to stay fit, I started feeling a change. I felt confident and happy and my look completely changed,” she says adding that some people suggested that she should take part in a local pageant and since then there has been no looking back for her.

“Whatever I am today, I owe it my fitness,” she says, adding that working out has become a necessity of life. She regrets that people these days don’t really bother to take care of themselves and keep a tab on what they are consuming. “The way we abuse our body, it has become important for everyone to heal it through exercise, be it running or yoga, but do so for at least 45 minutes in a day and you will see the results.”

After she won the title, Mishra points out that other than feeling really proud of representing India, she felt great that she pushed herself beyond her limits with the help and support of her family, who believed in her, just the way she did.

She points out that women are known to take care and nurture others, but while they are doing so, they skip taking care of themselves. “With changing times, women should concentrate on their food habits and physical well being which not only makes one healthy but gives a certain level of confidence too,” she adds.

Mishra has always loved giving back to society whenever she can. She wants to contribute more towards social good and help children. “Be it education, health or helping them with cultural activities, I like devoting my time to children and I would be doing it more often in the near future,”she says. She has been keen on contributing to social cause of women empowerment, education for children and a healthy environment.
