Business leaders of tomorrow

Indira Group of Institutes (IGI), Pune, organised the 7th edition of Indira Brand Slam Summit and Awards on September 27 and 28. The theme for this year was Triggering Transformation in New Age Indian Business.

More than 2,000 management students and over 50+ corporate speakers attended this extravaganza. The keynote address was given by Murali MS, director marketing and chief fun officer, Capgemini, who emphasised that life gets better by change and not by chance.

Dr Tarita Shankar, chairperson-IGI, Prof Chetan Wakalkar, group director-IGI, along with other dignitaries, released initiatives including the Dr Tarita Shankar Award for Excellence, Indira International Innovation Summit, Indira Community Care Club  and IGI Value Statement Empowering Minds to Elevate Lives.

Corporate leaders like Gaurav Buch, CHRO and group head HR, CSR and Administration, Rasna Group; Ranjan Sarkar, CHRO, Exide Batteries; Inbarajan P, business head, Dailyhunt; and Akash Sangole, general manager and head of corporate HR, Panasonic, to name a few, were speakers for the first day of the summit. 

The second day saw eminent speakers like Dr Pandit Mali, director — IIMP; Chetan Dixit, associate director — business intelligence, OLA cabs; Maharana Ray, vice-president — probiking, Bajaj Auto Limited; Chrystlline Fernandes, media operations specialist — LinkedIn; and several others imparting industrial knowledge and skills. 

Business Excellence Awards were given to shortlisted corporate leaders who have impacted lives of millions by their contribution to the industry they cater to and a few IGI alumni were recognised for their good work in the industry.

Brands like Café Hearts, Sakal Times, Suzuki Motors, Ace Perkins — dealers of Jaguar and Land Rover, Mapro, Piaggio, Aprilia, Budhani Bros, Ador, P&G, Des Rangeela etc were event partners and put up their stalls to attract more than 3,500 students of IGI campus.

While management students (PGDM, MBA and BBA) of Indira Group (ISBS, IIMP, ICEM and IGBS) got an opportunity to learn what businesses are doing to transform and redesign themselves, it was an occasion for industry stalwarts to hold up the beacon of their experience to shape the leaders of tomorrow.
