Binge Worthy!

The big screen has given us many undercover agents like Tiger and Sehmat who have redefined the genre of spy thrillers and patriotic films. Another name that can be added to the list is Adonis aka Kabir Anand, played by Emraan Hashmi in the Netflix India original web series, Bard of Blood.

The series is based on a book of the same name penned by youngster Bilal Siddiqi. Kabir Anand, an English Literature professor in a Mumbai college (the name ‘bard’ refers to William Shakespeare in the title, in case you didn’t get it) who tries to save four Indian agents captured by the Taliban. This seven episode series also features Viineet Kumar Singh, Kirti Kulhari, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rajit Kapur and Sobhita Dhulipala.

With such impeccable cast and the subject, which is current, the Bard of Blood has struck a chord with netizens, who have lauded the thriller as ‘engaging’ and ‘intriguing’. One Twitter user wrote, “Now this is something we are looking for @emraanhashmi was the show stealer, but credit goes to all the team. Everything is top-notch. Excellent effort by @NetflixIndia & @RedChilliesEnt Go for it guys.. I’m still watching #BardOfBlood #EmraanHashmi.”

Another user, who went slow, one episode at a time, praised Emraan. He wrote, “One episode done! what a fine actor you are @emraanhashmi — I love the way you act with your eyes best always !!! #BardOfBlood”
