Earlier, having a vacation abroad was considered luxurious. Only affluent Indians could afford it. However, with the changing times, travel has become much more affordable. As per the UN world tourism organisation, there has been an average annual growth rate of 10-12 per cent in Indian outbound travellers over the last seven years. About 50 million Indians went overseas for vacations in 2019.
