‘Salman is a family-oriented person’

‘Salman is a family-oriented person’

Angad Bedi talks about his role in his debut web-series Inside Edge, his co-stars and Salman Khan.

Angad Bedi’s portrayal of a snobbish, male chauvinist in PINK last year got him a lot of praises. The actor will now been seen in Amazon Prime original Inside Edge, produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.

The series presents how a privately-owned cricket team works and Angad plays the captain. “Arvind Bakshi is a focused, single-minded, devoted person. For him, cricket is religion and he is committed to it. He wants to play the game in the correct way,” says Angad during the promotions of the series.

Not many know, that Angad is son of noted cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi. Thus, he has been closely associated with the game. “I have been following the game since I was child. I have played the game for under 16, which helped me think as a sports-person while doing the show. You need a certain body frame to be agile for the game. There are things like handling the ego of the players, speed work, fitness and so on that I am familiar with because I have played the game,” adds the actor who enjoys watching Test cricket and T-20 matches.

The series also stars Vivek Oberoi, Richa Chadha, Sanjay Suri, and Sayani Gupta among others. The actor says that it was fun with an ensemble cast. “Both Richa and Sanjay are great human beings and lots of fun to be with. They are friendly co-stars,” says Angad.

Ask him how working in a web series is different from working in a film, and he says, “The experience is almost the same. But in case of a web-series, there is a lot more work in a single day. We were shooting for 10 hours a day because the scenes are long so it was quite a draining process.”

The actor is planning to make a documentary on his father. “We are looking at making a biopic and searching for a director who will understand emotions and the game of cricket,” he adds.
Angad is currently shooting for Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer

Tiger Zinda Hai. “It’s the biggest film of the year with Salman, Paresh Rawal and Ali Abbas Zafar (director). Everyone is looking forward to the film. Ali and Salman are coming back together after Sultan. I still have 50 days shoot left,” says the actor who made his debut with F.A.L.T.U.
He can’t stop gushing about Salman. “He is a family-oriented person with immense wisdom. He treats you like family, as one of his own,” says Angad before signing off.
