‘Legacy of Love’
It was a very endearing sight when gorgeous grandmothers and their grandchildren walked the ramp at ‘Legacy of Love’, a fashion show held in the city last week.
It was a very endearing sight when gorgeous grandmothers and their grandchildren walked the ramp at ‘Legacy of Love’, a fashion show held in the city last week. Ladies in the age group of 45 to 86, graciously participated in the event conducted by Poona Women’s Council, a non-profit organisation.
The two past presidents, Zainab Poonawala and Mini Grant were the show stoppers of the show. Suman Kirloskar with her granddaughter too graciously walked the ramp. The others who graced the runway included Manda Shimpi, Suchita Shroff, Ratush Wadia, Rukshana Anklesaria, Chaitrali Satpute, Kiran Pallod, Rani Sunder, Lata Shah, Ranjana Joshi, Prafulla Shetty, Sunita Shirke, Lata Pardesai and Meena Naik.
The two young conveners of the show — Rakhi Shetty and Katyayani Balasubramanian — walked the ramp with Pushpa Hegde, the current president of PWC.
Poona Women’s Council is a 94-year-old NGO which works towards the upliftment of underprivileged women and children of Pune. It has many projects like the Village Welfare Projects in Bavdhan and Katraj, a school for the differently abled called Manovikas, a family planning project in collaboration with Family Planning Association of India and the PWC School which is a Zilla Parishad recognised school for over 600 students of low income families.
