‘The Forgotten Army’ is the biggest OTT show produced in India?

Amazon Prime Video’s latest show The Forgotten Army will be the biggest OTT show ever produced, says sources close to the series. The show will mark Kabir Khan’s directorial debut on the OTT platform. It is all set to release in January 2020. Kabir known for hits like Ek Tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, is also producing the series.

The show has been shot on a very high budget with Sunny Kaushal and Sharvari as the protagonists. Talking about The Forgotten Army, Kabir says, “As a producer, the story of this web series has enormously impressed me. The story is close to my heart as I have lived through the story line since my first directorial debut The Forgotten Army back in 1999. I had always intended to narrate this story which has been largely forgotten by the Indians. From the last 20 years, I wanted to showcase this story which charts the journeys of several valiant men and women who fought for the country’s independence as a part of the Indian National Army. I am glad that I could collaborate with Amazon and with their support finally I could showcase this web series on an augmented scale in front of a wide audience. The Forgotten Army is based on true events which tells the untold story of the freedom fighters who braved adversities and bullets to fight for the independence of India.”

“The show has been extensively shot to give us an the realistic feel while watching it. Some of the places were recreated in order for us to time travel to that era. The entire show’s budget as goes as high as Rs 150 crore – the biggest ever for a web series production in India,” says a source.
