Yogesh Kakare Memorial chess on Sunday

Pune: Hind Shakti Social Foundation and Navyug Mitra Mandal Trust is organizing 9th Yogesh Kakare Memorial Open chess championship from Sunday, February 18 at the Millennium Tower on Bhandarkar Road.

“This tournament to be held at the Millennium Tower Parking area is open to all,” said Bhushan More, General Secretary of Navyug Mitra Mandal.

Pune: Hind Shakti Social Foundation and Navyug Mitra Mandal Trust is organizing 9th Yogesh Kakare Memorial Open chess championship from Sunday, February 18 at the Millennium Tower on Bhandarkar Road.

“This tournament to be held at the Millennium Tower Parking area is open to all,” said Bhushan More, General Secretary of Navyug Mitra Mandal.

The championship will be inaugurated on Sunday morning at 9.30 by the President of Pune District Chess Association, Deepak Mankar. Also present on the occasion will be corporator Nilima Khadge, Secretary of Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited, Ashok Devrajan.

The tournament will be played in 8-round Swiss league format with Rs 20000 as cash prizes at stake.

The top four finishers in the open category will get Rs 3,500, Rs 2000, Rs 1,500 and Rs 500 as cash prizes.
