Yardi sets place in last 8

Pune: Yardi made it two wins out of two with a massive 108-run win over Bitwise to virtually cement their place in the quarterfinals of the 2nd Prithvi Edifice Cup 2018 Inter IT T20 Cricket Championship.

In a one-sided Group-B encounter, Yardi had their opening day hero Tarun Notani shine with the ball with a rich haul of 4/11.
At the PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Yardi, electing to bat first, ensured they made full use of the opportunity by posting 206/3 off 20 overs. The total is by far the highest in the tournament.

Two vital partnerships helped Yardi build their total. First Amit Radkar and Parth Shah shared 85 runs (54 balls) for the second-wicket and later Jeevan Gosavi and Gautam Tulpule put on an unbeaten 110-run (42 ball) for fourth-wicket.

All four batsmen contributed majorly with Gautam (54*) making it quick off just 25 balls. 

Jeevan was unlucky to remain unbeaten on 49, while Amit Radkar (45) and Parth Shah (37) did well with their stints at the crease.

Bitwise folded easily and could score 98 with Pratik Dixit (25) and Suraj Mehta (15) giving the innings some shape after Tarun (4/11) threatened. In a Group-D opening match, FIS Global with Ganesh Pol (62*) leading from the front scored a 10 wicket win over Mindtree in a low scoring match. Midtree made 98 and FIS Global achieved the target in 10.4 overs.
