Walkathon to create awareness on cervical cancer on June 18

The walkathon will begin from Café Good Luck square to Bal Gandharva Rangmandir intersection. The run will end by paying tribute to Rani Laximibai of Jhansi.

Pune: ‘Teen Tikke  Zindagi Ke’, a walkathon to create awareness about cervical cancer, has been organised by Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology Society of India (FOGSI), on June 18.

The walkathon will begin from Café Good Luck square to Bal Gandharva Rangmandir intersection. The run will end by paying tribute to Rani Laximibai of Jhansi.

The participants will spread awareness about the need of vaccination for cervical cancer and what steps be taken to decrease the incidents of cervical cancer amongst adolescent girls and young women.

Cervical cancer is amongst top three cancers from which women suffer. The idea is to create awareness by educating the society and reduce the possibility of cervical cancer considerably with the help of just three doses.
