Pune: First seed Pritha Vartikar defeated Eknoor Chadda 11-3, 11-2, 11-2 in the second round of the Cadet Girls Under-12 category of the 48th Inter District & 79th Maharashtra State Table Tennis Championship being played at the Balewadi Sports Complex on Saturday.
Also registering a victory was Mrunal Kurade who defeated Tisha Rewaskar 15-13, 11-4, 11-4 while 16th seed Prutha Achrekar got past opponent Swanandi Pankhedkar 11-4, 11-2,11-4 to advance further.
In another Round 2 action, ninth seed Jui Pendharkar toiled hard to defeat Keisha Jhaveri with the score reading 10-12, 6-11, 11-8,11-4,11-4.
In another encounters, Risha Mirchandani got the better of Devyani Kulkarni who is 13th seeded with the score of 11-9,15-13,11-7 to enter Round 3 while Riya Kothari defeated Jaanhavi Phanse 4-11,11-9, 11-6, 11-3.
In the women’s singles event, Jagruti Murbadkar displayed a good game as she got past Ankita Shinde 11-4,11-4,11-8 to advance further.
Meanwhile Shubhada Chondekar got the better of Anjali Panchal 11-6,11-4,11-5.
