Pune: City girl Pritha Vartikar defeated second seeded Vidhi Shah from Mumbai Suburbs 11-9,7-11,11-5,13-11,11-7 in the quarterfinals of the Junior Girls category of the first State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament being played at Symbiosis Sports Centre on Friday.
In another match, Thane’s sixth seeded player Kheya Shah toiled hard as she defeated third seeded Solapur player Samruddhi Kulkarni with the score of 8-11,11-9,12-10,14-12,11-3.
Also registering a win was first seed Aditi Sinha from Mumbai Suburbs who defeated Pune’s Swapnali Narle with the score reading 13-11,10-12,11-7,11-4,11-6.
Meanwhile while Sampada Bhiwandkar from Mumbai Suburbs defeated 13th seeded Pune player Preeti Gadhave with the score of 5-11,9-11,11-9,11-7,11-5,12-10.
In the Junior Boys quarterfinals, first seeded Thane player Deepit Patil defeated eighth seded Aryan Panse from Pune 11-4,11-7,11-4,11-6.
Later, fifth seeded Gaurav Lohapatre from Pune got the better of Nagpur player Aadi Chitnis 11-7,7-11,11-8,11-4,11-9.
