Top cueists for PSPB tourney

PUNE: Country’s top cueists, including Pankaj Advani and Adiya Mehta, would take part in the 14th PSPB Inter Unit Billiards and Snooker Tournament here from Tuesday.

Apart from Advani (ONGC) and Mehta (Indian Oil), Devendra Joshi (BPCL), Sourav Kothari (ONGC), Rupesh Shah (ONGC), Alok Kumar (ONGC), Dhruv Sitwala (ONGC), Manan Chandra (BPCL) and Shahbaaz Adil Khan (BPCL) will be seen in action at the PYC Gymkhana Tuesday onwards.

The opening ceremony of the tournament would take place at the Conference Hall at PYC Hindu Gymkhana on Tuesday at the hands of Ajay Kumar, Managing Director BPRL.

The tournament is being hosted by Bharat Petroleum. The tournament would start with the team championships while the individual championships would be starting on 23rd February. 

The prize distribution ceremony is scheduled at 6pm on 24th February at the Basketball court of PYC Hindu Gymkhana.  Mr. R. R. Nair, ED (HRS) BPCL would be the chief guest for the function.

Along with the cue sports, the 23rd PSPB Inter Unit Kabaddi Tournament will also be conducted at the same venue concurrently. Oil companies like ONGC, Bharat Petroleum, CPCL, MRPL and EIL would be participating in the tournament.

Top Kabaddi players of the country from the Oil sector - including Rishank Devadiga, Nilesh Shinde, Vishal Mane, Nitin Madane, Kashiling Adake (from BPCL), Jasvir Singh, Rajesh Narwal, Manpreet Singh, Amit Rathi (from ONGC) would be participating in the tournament, according to the release.

The tournament would commence on February 21 and would be conducted on league cum knockout basis. The final is scheduled on February 24.
