Tezabwala topples top seed Gogoi to enter last four

PUNE: Amaan Tezabwala had a memorable outing at Ravine Hotel tennis courts, as he ousted top seed Udit Gogoi 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 6-3 to enter the semi-final of the MSLTA Yonex Sunrise Ravine Hotel National Series Under 16 Tennis Tournament here in Panchgani here on Thursday.

It turned out to be the longest match of the day, which lasted for three hours.

The day also saw a few more upsets, as Mumbai girl Swarda Parab upset the season campaigner Gargi Pawar 6-1, 6-4.

City girl, Sharanya Gaware who is fifth seed rallied from one set down to oust third seed Sanjana Sirimulla of Telangana 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 to ensure her place in the semi-final. 

Seventh seed Bhakti Shah struggled in the first set before completing a 7-6 (10-8), 6-2 victory over Shreya Chakraborty to move into last four.
