Sweeton started with a bang breaking Shah twice to take a 4-0 lead in the first set

Pune: Sixth seeded Abinava Sweeton hardly broke a sweat to beat Shubhangee Laxmi Shah of Nepal in the second round of the  MSLTA KPIT Arun Wakankar Memorial ATF Asian Under- 14 Series Tennis Tournament at MSLTA School of Tennis in Balewadi Tuesday. 

Sweeton started with a bang breaking Shah twice to take a 4-0 lead in the first set. 

Shah who was not able to control the ball on the court earlier managed to hold her serve in the fifth game to make it 5-1. In the sixth game, Sweeton held her serve to take the first set 6-1. Nothing much changed in the second set as Sweeton kept playing wide winners and wrapped up the second set 6-1 to enter the quarter-finals.  

In the boys section, fifth seeded Daksh Agarwal struggled before scoring a 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 win over Joshua Eapen. Omaansh Saharia rallied from one set down to survive against Ashwin Manikandan 4-6, 7-5, 6-2. Top seeded Shivam Kadam staved off a challenge from Siddharth Marathe 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 6-0 to make it to the last eight stage. 

Wildcard winners
Wildcard entrants Ruma Gaikaiwari and Saina Deshpande knocked out seeds to advance into the last eight.  

Ruma upset seventh seeded Saumya Ronde 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) while Saina Deshpande toppled eighth seeded Kaashvi Thapliyal 6-2, 6-2.
